Whatcomes next?
CV101 gives you a clear picture of the gospel, our church and the commitments of membership. What happens next depends on where you are. There is no pressure to manufacture certainty.
One family.Three ways to enter.
These are not different levels of membership. They simply describe how a person formally enters the church family. A pastor will help you identify the pathway that fits your story.
Profess faith and be baptized.
For a believer who has not yet received believer’s baptism by immersion, baptism becomes the public profession of faith and the pathway into membership.
Learn about baptism →Come from another church.
For someone who is already a baptized believer and member of another church of like faith and practice, CVBC may receive you through a transfer of membership.
Affirm your testimony.
When a transfer is not appropriate or available, a baptized believer may be received by affirming personal faith in Jesus and prior believer’s baptism.
Ready, wonderingor still seeking.
Now that you understand the pathway, choose the response that truthfully describes where you are today.
I am ready to pursue membership.
If you believe the Lord is leading you to make CVBC your church family, complete the membership application. This begins the formal process; it does not bypass the personal conversations that help us know and care for you well.
I would like to talk with a pastor.
Your story may include questions, previous church experiences, baptism concerns or circumstances that deserve a thoughtful conversation. We would be glad to listen and help you discern your next step.
I need more time to seek the Lord.
Continue worshiping with us as our guest while you pray, learn and consider where God would have you belong. You are welcome here, and you do not need to rush the decision.
Membership is meaningful, so discernment matters.
Our desire is not simply that you join a church, but that you faithfully belong to the local church where the Lord is leading you. We are available whenever you are ready to talk.
You do not haveto sort it out alone.
If you are unsure which response fits, begin with a conversation. A pastor can hear your story, answer questions and pray with you without pressuring you toward a predetermined answer.
