Operation Christmas Child partners with local churches worldwide to give gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need. Each outreach event creates a child-friendly opportunity to hear the Gospel, receive prayer and begin a relationship with a church in their community.
Thoughtful gifts.
A clear purpose.
Anyone can take part. Choose quality items, pray for the child who will receive them, and follow the current packing and donation guidance from Samaritan’s Purse.
Choose a shoebox.
Use a standard-size shoebox or an official preprinted box, and select whether the gift is for a boy or girl and the age group.
Add a “wow” item.
Begin with one special gift—a doll, soccer ball with pump, stuffed animal or another quality item a child will treasure.
Pack useful gifts.
Add toys, school supplies and personal-care items that are appropriate for the child’s age and destination.
Make it personal.
Include a note and photo if you wish, and pray specifically for the child who will receive your box.
Follow the box.
Use an official label and make the suggested project donation online to help cover collection, processing and shipping.
Bring it in.
Take your completed shoebox to the announced CVBC collection point or an official drop-off location during National Collection Week.
Small boxes. Extraordinary reach.

The Greatest Journey
for Christ
Global impact figures published by Samaritan’s Purse.
The gift is a beginning.
After many outreach events, children are invited into a relationship with a local church through The Greatest Journey—a 12-lesson course that introduces the Gospel and helps children learn to follow Jesus.
Lessons in discipleship
Children explore salvation through faith in Jesus, learn to grow as faithful followers and receive discipleship materials in their own language.
Can disciple one child
A designated gift can provide one child’s course materials, graduation certificate and a New Testament in the child’s language.
Pray
Pray for each child, the local churches that distribute gifts, and the volunteers who prepare every box.
